 'Having a fun day in the 'lab!'

I am reminded of :

Song of the Witches: “Double, double toil and trouble”

By William Shakespeare

(from Macbeth)

Double, double toil and trouble;

Fire burn and caldron bubble.

Fillet of a fenny snake,

In the caldron boil and bake;

Eye of newt and toe of frog,

Wool of bat and tongue of dog,

Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,

Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,

For a charm of powerful trouble,

Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

Double, double toil and trouble;

Fire burn and caldron bubble.

Cool it with a baboon's blood,

Then the charm is firm and good.

Notes:

Macbeth: IV.i 10-19; 35-38

"It's Not Easy Being Green!"

Seriously feeling a bit like Kermit of" It's not easy being green fame". My "green "however does not relate to my colour , but rather to my green-ness as a measure of my inexperience when it comes to technical /computer savvy. Sure I have come a long way and I certainly try very hard.,but oh my! It is so easy to get into a a state of overwhelm and despair.

I have , in the last twenty minutes deleted, it would seem,( unintentionially of course) no less than one draft  and that same draft from my Notes in I Cloud .It is all too tedious and I do not need to go on ad nauseum about it !

I am often told "This ,or that is easy....  you just do...Yes ,very easy if you know and  understand the inner workings and idiosyncracies of computers.Despite having  many times of techno despair , (I do appreciate that I am not alone here)I try to persist, mainly with a positive attitude.

The good news is that computer issues will be shelved for a time when I get busy , in the" lab"doing something which is  a lot more fun.My passion.Aromatherapy! I am looking forward to pottering around with my oils,lotions and potions !

I am reminded of that saying ,"Do what you love ,and love what you do."

Anyway it will be a busy,but relaxing and productive exercise. A welcome diversion from sitting at the desk feeling green!

 More absolutely great ingredients to have in your skin care products:

  • Pomegranate Oil /Pomegranate Extract is a powerful free radical scavenger.It contains ellagic acid , which strengthens cell membranes( therefore less susceptible to free radical damage,and prevents water loss from the skin .
  • Rosehip Oil is rich in vitamin C as well as essential fatty acids and is known to improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, skin pigmentation and disorders , scars and sunburn .
  • Vitamin E Oil reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and age spots .
  • Jojoba Oil is not an oil but a liquid wax , strictly speaking.Usually used in combination with other vegetable oils to more closely mimic the make up of our own natural skin oil. It has excellent moisturising and protective effects on the skin.

There are many more wonderful natural ingredients that could be added to the ' good guys ' list.

More of that down the track .In the meantime why not check the ingredients on your skin care bottles and jars .

Cleansing is a Must...

Cleansing is a Must...

Only since I have studied aromatherapy have I been conscientious about peppier cleansing. Early on, soap and water sufficed, or so I thought until my skin really started to feel uncomfortably tight.
